Roulette Strategy

The two main categories of bets in roulette are inside bets and outside bets, named according to their position in the layout. Inside bets include all the number layout of 12 rows by 3 columns and zero. Outside bets are placed in the area surrounding the number layout.

Inside bets.
Inside bets can increase the gambler’s wealth considerably. The higher the odds are for the player, the higher the payoff is if he/she wins. Inside bets are comprised of the following:

  • Single number bet which is made by placing a chip in the centre of the square with the number inside. Pays 35 to 1.
  • Split bet which requires putting a chip on a line separating two numbers. Pays 17 to 1.
  • Corner (Square or Quarter) bet which allows placing a chip on the intersection of the lines within a square block of four numbers. Pays 8 to 1.
  • Street bet hat gives the opportunity of betting on a row of three numbers placing a chip at its edge. Pays 11 to 1.
  • Special line bet that can be made only on five neighboring numbers which are 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3 by locating a chip touching all the mentioned number squares. Pays 6 to 1.
  • Line bet which is the last inside bet requiring a chip to be placed at the number layout edge on the adjoining line which separates the two rows you want to bet on. Pays 5 to 1.

Outside bets.
All outside bets are easier to win as the odds are much lower, but don't bring in the same level of profits. The outside bets are comprised of the following:

  • Dozens that allow you only three areas to bet on, assuming the 36-number layout divided into three dozens. Pays 2 to 1.
  • Odd or even which is a simple 50/50 choice of an odd or an even number. Pays 1 to 1.
  • Red or black which is another equipollent option because of the balanced number of red and black sections on the wheel. Pays 1 to 1.
  • Column bet that is made on the three columns of numbers and requires a chip to be placed on the relevant area outside the number layout. Pays 2 to 1.
  • 1-18 which is the last option of even chances, dividing all the numbers into two parts and indicating that you prefer the first half to bet on. Pays 1 to 1.
  • 19-36 which is the variation where you would rather bet on the second half of the number layout. Pays 1 to 1.

Basic Roulette strategy

The most crucial point in developing a roulette gambling strategy is choosing the right table. Many online casinos invite you to spin the wheel at their tables promising a real enjoyment. However, the most ornated roulette tables are not necessarily the most fortunate. The only difference between all roulette wheels is in the number of zero sectors and additional rules. There are three kinds of roulette gamble:

  • American or “double zero” roulette has two zero sectors on the wheel, thus being the worst table to play at for a gambler. Casinos with such wheels enjoy 5.26% edge making American roulette the least popular of all.
  • European or “single zero” roulette has only one green sector that increases the gambler’s odds to 2.7%. But for the most efficient gambler, it’s worth seeking for additional rules.
  • Emprisonment rule which is French “en prison” allows either to surrender half of the bet or to secure it so far and let the next spin decide whether it will return to the gamble (without payoff) or pass to the casino. To execute the emprisonment option, there are two provisions: the bet must be an even-money one, and the winning number must be “zero”. This rule reduces the casino’s advantage even further, making it drop to 2.63%, yet it’s too much for a casual player to feel happy about the gamble.
  • ‘La partage’ is extremely hard to find, as this rule makes the gambler lose only half of the bet if the winning nimber is zero.

Also, here are some recommended betting systems:

CGR system

The essence of the Casino Group System is in choosing a couple of group bets where your chances of winning will be equal to that of your fiasco or even higher. For this purpose, bet on a combination of low-payoff sectors, e.g. “1-18” plus “3rd dozen”. In such an apportion the game will result in no loss (once in two spins) if your “1-18” wins, 50% of your bet profit (once in three spins) if “dozen” wins, or losing all your bets, yet once in five spins only. This gambling strategy can be slightly modified according to your ambitions, spirits and self-confidence.

Powerplay

The powerplay system teaches you to bet not on the numbers on the table, but on the numbers on the wheel. In other words, to divide the roulette wheel into 6 sectors, 6 consecutive numbers in each, select one sector and bet it as long as it would need to achieve some winnings.
